The Concept

Everything you achieve in life is a result of the route you took and the decisions along the way.

Many people are convinced that real change can only be achieved if there is a large and significant change, like quitting your job or moving to the other side of the world. A lot of people put an awful lot of pressure on themselves to make such a decision – resulting often in failure and disappointment.

Another type of change however is often overlooked: change through marginal improvements. Change through marginal improvements requires a mindset where you aim to do everything you do at least 1 percent better.

In the beginning there will seem to be little to no difference – but on the long run the marginal improvement aggregate and cause increasing returns. There is where you will start to see huge gaps arise between people who make slightly better decisions on a daily basis and those who don’t.
